Yaml Is A Bug Not A Feature

Somewhere along the way, infrastructure decided to be configured in a language with significant whitespace and no types. We built BLOK because we're tired of it.

The thousand-line indentation

YAML is fine for a config file. It's a disaster for a backend — a typo on line 900, a wrong indent, a value that's silently a string instead of a number. You find out at deploy time, if you're lucky.

Typed config is the fix

BLOK wires blocks with typed config. The CLI knows what each block expects and catches a misconfiguration before it ships.

• Wrong types fail at write time, not deploy time.
• Blocks validate against each other's contracts.
• Secrets are injected, never pasted into a file.

Infrastructure should be boring — in the good way. Not a puzzle you solve at 2 a.m.
